Betsy Hurley is the founder and director of the Lancaster Literary Guild, as well as the editor of the guild's literary journal, Rapportage . She has focused on literary pursuits for much of her professional life, first as the editor of her college literary journal, then as a school librarian. She received the Kerr-Morehead Award from Stratford College for Creative Writing and more recently, was a writing student in the University of Pittsburgh's MFA program. After having shared many years between Lancaster and New York City, she returned in February of 2000 to her Lancaster family home to found the Lancaster Literary Guild.
