Phoebe Myria Bailey serves as the Executive Director of Bethel Harambee Historical Services, a company dedicated to the preservation and restoration of local African history, Underground Railroad History, and the collection and display of artifacts of African American experiences. Bethel Harambee Historical Services commitment to the revitalization and re-building of a sound community; is evident in the myriad of programs and services the organization provides.
Ms. Bailey also serves as the theatrical director/writer of “Living The Experience,” a spiritually interactive reenactment of the Underground Railroad in Central Pennsylvania. Phoebe has successfully established the site of the Historic Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church and :Living The Experience” as an important tourist attraction in the ChurchTowne area of Lancaster, PA. Phoebe is invited for speaking engagements and workshops on topics such as diversity, developing historical sites for tourism, local African History, and common sense motivational speaking.
Ms. Bailey is a member of the Underground Railroad Coalition and other noteworthy organizations. Phoebe is a member of the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she serves as part of the ministerial team, steward board, and choir.
Ms. Bailey is the author of AN AFRICAN AMERICAN COOKBOOK: TRADITIONAL AND OTHER FAVORITE RECIPES. The book is available in major bookstores across the country and has sold over 60,000 copies.
